• Fully comprehensive breakdown cover for your product for 3 or 5 years (inclusive of the manufacturer’s guarantee)
• We’ll repair or replace your product even if the fault is caused by accidental damage (right from day one) and no matter how many times it goes wrong, we’ll be there to fix it
• It is quick and easy to make a claim - just ring the claims line, as detailed in your policy document and we will do the rest
• Typically, we will repair your product within a week with around 75% of repairs completed on the first visit. Nationwide service is provided either in your home, by phone, courier or in store (depending on the product)
• All parts and labour costs are included in your cover with no unexpected bill or excess to pay - even if we do not find a fault, you won’t be charged for the visit
• If we cannot repair your product or we decide it is beyond economical repair we will provide you with a New for old replacement

Many small household electrical products are essential for everyday living and we understand that if they go wrong, it’s often easier and cheaper to buy a new one than get it repaired. For a small one-off cost, Instant Replacement Cover will provide unlimited replacements for 3 years should your product break down. Instant Replacement Cover is available on selected purchases under £130.

• Our claims process is quick and easy - if it breaks, just bring it in to your local store and we will exchange it on the spot for a brand new one. If we can’t replace it, we will give you Comet vouchers

Frequently asked questions

How can I buy cover?

You can take out cover at the same time as purchasing a product from www.comet.co.uk, via Click & Collect, instore or on the phone. You can also purchase cover within 30 days of your product purchase by calling 0844 800 9595. Alternatively, you can buy extended warranties from insurers, utility companies, credit card companies, manufacturers, some other retailers and specialist on line providers. Your household contents insurance may provide cover but you should check your policy carefully.


What if I change my mind?

Provided you have not made a claim, you may cancel a policy and receive a full refund within 45 days of purchase. After 45 days you can terminate your policy at any time and receive a refund for the full, unexpired months of cover remaining.


Won’t my purchase come with a guarantee?

Yes. Most manufacturers offer 12 months’ cover against any technical fault, but will not usually cover accidental damage and may not cover callout charges. When you buy a product, you are also protected by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) and the Sale Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002. For further information regarding your rights, contact your local Trading Standards department.
