How to get your fridge or freezer sorted

Call us straight away at our UK call centre on 0844 879 7577.
We’re open every day of the week, 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday. When you book an appointment, we’ll ask you for your payment card details. We accept most of the major credit or debit cards, and the engineer will be someone from your area. Please make sure you have the model number of your fridge or freezer handy before you call.

When can I book an engineer for?

Our engineers work Monday through to Friday. You can choose a morning or afternoon appointment on any of those days.

Common fridge or freezer problems

1. Water pooling in base of the fridge or freezer.

This is because the drain is blocked. Use a pipe cleaner (some makes/models may include a special plastic tool) to unblock it and clear the drain out.

2. Fridge or freezer not running.

You might have this problem if your fridge or freezer is in an unheated building or room like a garage or a shed. Fridges and freezers need a room temperature of 16-32°C to work properly. If the room is too cold they may not run. If the room is warm, but the fridge or freezer is still not running, then phone us on 0844 879 7577.

3. The light in the fridge won't come on.

Check that there isn't anything resting against the switch. This could keep it switched off. If there’s nothing pressing the switch, you may need to replace the bulb. The fridge or freezer manual will give you a step by step guide to replacing the bulb. If you are in any doubt, phone us on 0844 879 7577

4. Ice is forming on the drawer fronts and flaps.

This can be caused by the fridge door seal not sealing properly. Clean around the door seal with warm water. You can also use the adjustable feet under the appliance (adjust by turning them) to tilt the fridge or freezer slightly backwards. This should help keep the door closed. If you have a big build up of ice you may need to defrost fully before the door will close properly again.

5. Water droplets are forming on the rear wall of the fridge.

Don’t worry. Water or ice droplets forming on the back wall of the fridge is normal for a wet wall type fridge.
