1: Which TV makes/models can Comet repair?
These are just a few of the brands we can repair, if you can’t find your appliance on the list then give us a call on 0844 879 7577 as we might still be able to help.
2: Do I have to buy my TV from Comet before you’ll fix it?
No. We’ll repair any make of TV, no matter which shop or store you bought it from. We’ll even repair televisions you’ve bought on the Internet.
3: My remote is not functioning or not all the functions seem to be working
This is probably because your batteries are running out of juice, and this is locking out certain functions. Open the battery compartment lid and remove the old batteries (remember to dispose of them properly). Before you put the new batteries in, hold down any button on the keypad for at least 30 seconds (this fully discharges the unit). Put the new batteries in the right way around (+/- as marked in the battery compartment). Your remote should now work fine.
4: No picture or sound is coming from boxes like DVD players etc connected to my TV.
Make sure all the connection leads or cables, especially if you have SCART leads, are securely and fully plugged into in the correct sockets on the TV and the connected equipment.
5: I can’t get any Freeview channels on my TV
You can switch between analogue and digital Freeview channels using the ATV/DTV function buttons on your remote control, if it has them. Otherwise, use your remote to get into the source listing in the menu of your TV. Your user instruction manual should tell you how to do this.
6: My Freeview picture is freezing or breaking up.
This probably has nothing to do with your TV. It’s more likely you’re just not getting a strong enough signal. To fix this, we recommend getting a wideband aerial, which produces a good strong signal. It would be a good idea to have your aerial installation checked by a qualified installer to confirm this.
7: The picture is freezing/pixelated or no sound is coming from my Sky or cable box.
You can usually fix this by isolating your cable box from the mains electricity supply (switch off at the plug or just unplug it) for at least two minutes before reconnecting the power. This should reset or reboot the box and fix the problem.
